WHAT IS ROTARY

Improving communities in the Metro East and globally, through service since 1917.

Our Mission

The members of the Belle Clair Rotary are driven by a single goal; to do our part in making the world a better place for all. We strive to build productive relationships and make a positive impact with all of our pursuits.

A lot of folks don't know what Rotary Clubs are. So here's a little fun video to learn about Rotary.

What We've Achieved

  • When COVID came to our community, the already existing hunger challenges increased.  How did our Club respond? We responded with the HUNGER CHALLENGE.  Our Club and Foundation raised over $20,000 and then distributed it to local food pantries.

  • Donated funds to support feeding students at the Malawi Embangweni Primary school. Due to COVID, the usual means of raising funds to help feed students was interrupted.

  • Belle Clair Rotarians assisted R3 Development in the rehab of and East St. Louis home and the cleanup of community. Hard and dirty work, but it makes a difference. R3 is working hard to improve their community. Our Club makes a difference.

  • In July, our Club Foundation donated $6000 to local charities.

  • The club established the Bob Hardy Scholarship at SWIC in honor of long time Rotarian Bob Hardy.

  • The Club supported the Heartlands Conservancy by helping clean up and work on an outdoor classroom that will be used for education. The log amphitheater makes a nice space for outdoor learning for the students of Signal Hill, Blessed Sacrament and Queen of Peace Schools.

  • We delivered Buddy benches to schools in East St. Louis and in Belleville. The idea is simple: If a child feels lonely, they can go to the bench as a signal that they need someone to play with. Another child will see them, go and talk to them and include them in their games.
